COVIDdetect by DriverCheck is a proud national supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society.

To commemorate World Cancer Day, the COVIDdetect and DriverCheck family are thrilled to support the Canadian Cancer Society by donating 1,000 COVID-19 rapid antigen tests to vital programs including the Wheels of Hope and Lodges.

Wheels of Hope is a volunteer program that provides additional support to people with cancer who need a ride to and from their treatment. Lodges are welcoming homes away from home for people with cancer who need to travel to receive treatment. It is vital that these programs continue to run safely during the pandemic and therefore testing staff and volunteers is essential.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be supporting Canadian Cancer Society” Says Connor Page , Vice President, Strategy at COVIDdetect and Maggie Dunnett, DriverCheck President, in a joint statement. “Our father, Dr. Chris Page, started DriverCheck over 25 years ago with the goal to build a healthier and safer world, and we created COVIDdetect during the COVID-19 pandemic with the same ethos to help Canadians across the country.  During the pandemic, Canadian Cancer Society and their staff and volunteers have maintained their passion for supporting those dealing with cancer during an especially challenging time. We couldn’t be happier to help the Wheels of Hope, Lodges, and other Canadian Cancer Society programs, to continue their meaningful work safely. Our father sadly passed away from cancer in 2021. We know he would be as immensely proud of this relationship as we are.”

Important Message for Individuals Waiting for PCR Test Results

A COVID-19 Test Being Performed

Due to the surge in demand for COVID-19 PCR Testing across Ontario some labs are currently experiencing a significant backlog at levels not seen during previous pandemic waves. This has results in some delays in analyzing and reporting test results.

Our staff continue to work closely with labs who process tests and provide lab results for our clinics. It usually takes 1 to 3 days for people to receive their PCR test results, however, due to the significant pressure on the system you may not receive your results within this timeframe.

What should you do?

If you have not received your results and it has been more than 5 days please visit Ontario Health’s COVID-19 Test Results Viewer which enables Ontario residents to access and view their COVID-19 test results from the Ontario Ministry of Health.

You can view the Ontario Health COVID-19 Test Results Viewer here: https://covid19results.ehealthontario.ca:4443/agree

If your results are not available, the lab has not processed your test and our team also will not have your results. It is very important to us that you receive your results as quickly as possible and we will send them to you as soon as we receive them from the lab.

If you develop symptoms please assume you have COVID-19 and follow public health guidelines including self-isolation.

Thank you for your patience.

Six Steps to Mitigate Health Risks from COVID-19

This year end and holiday season, as we make our final decisions on whom to see, when, and in what circumstances, we find ourselves immersed in yet another battle between conflicting emotions and human traits. Among them all, the desire to be with others and rational apprehension, or caution, seem to stand out time and time again. Having exercised my medical profession for the past 25 years, most especially in occupational medicine, and with a large circle of family and friends who are on my mind especially at this time of year, here’s my six-step checklist on how you, your family, friends, and loved ones can stay healthy and safe this holiday season.
