DriverCheck Inc. and Key Media Continue Partnership to Recognize Excellence in Public Transportation Safety

Safest Employer Award

Feb 24, 2025 (Toronto) – DriverCheck Inc., a leading provider of drug and alcohol testing and occupational health services, is proud to announce its continued partnership with Key Media, the publisher of Canadian Occupational Safety magazine, to present the DriverCheck Award for Canada’s Safest Public Transportation Employer at the 15th Annual Canada’s Safest Employers Awards on October 9, 2025, in Toronto.

Now in its second year, the DriverCheck Award for Canada’s Safest Public Transportation Employer continues to recognize Canadian public transit employers who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to health and safety. Nominees are evaluated based on their proactive efforts to ensure the well-being of employees and passengers across land, air, and sea transportation services provided by both for-profit and publicly funded organizations.

“Following the success of last year’s inaugural award, we are excited to once again celebrate organizations that prioritize the safety and well-being of their employees and the communities they serve,” said Maggie Dunnett, President of DriverCheck. “At DriverCheck, our mission has always been to build a healthier and safer world. Recognizing public transportation employers who go above and beyond in fostering a culture of safety aligns perfectly with that goal. We are grateful to Key Media and Canadian Occupational Safety for continuing to provide a platform to highlight these industry leaders.”

Last year’s award was presented to Metrolinx, recognizing their exceptional dedication to workplace and public safety. “Congratulations again to Metrolinx for setting a high standard for safety in the transportation industry. We look forward to celebrating another deserving winner this year,” added Dunnett.

“DriverCheck’s ongoing dedication to workplace safety makes them the ideal partner for this award,” said Shane Mercer, Senior Editor, Canadian Occupational Safety. “We are thrilled to once again collaborate with DriverCheck to recognize organizations in the public transportation sector that set the bar for safety excellence. We look forward to celebrating their achievements at this year’s Canada’s Safest Employers Awards.”

The 15th Annual Canada’s Safest Employers Awards will feature a total of 20 award categories, celebrating safety leadership across industries such as construction, logistics, mining, manufacturing, and public transportation.
